Mounts & Framing Guide

Choosing the right presentation option can transform how your artwork looks within a space. This guide explains the differences between print only, mounted prints and framed artwork, helping you select the option that best suits your needs.

Print Only

Our prints are produced using carefully selected professional photographic papers and high-quality printing processes designed to showcase the detail, colour and character of each image.

The size selected when ordering refers to the print dimensions.

Please note:

  • colours may vary slightly depending on screen settings and individual device calibration;
  • minor cropping adjustments may occasionally be required to accommodate different print sizes and aspect ratios while preserving the overall composition.

Print-only artwork is supplied without a mount or frame, allowing you to choose your own presentation style.

Mounted Prints

Mounted prints are supplied with a professionally cut mount, ready to place into your chosen frame.

When selecting a mounted print, the size you choose refers to the overall mounted artwork size, not the visible image area.

To accommodate the mount aperture, the photograph is printed slightly larger than the visible opening. A small area of the print is concealed behind the mount as part of the presentation process.

The visible image size will therefore be slightly smaller than the original print dimensions.

Mount widths typically vary between approximately 1–3 inches depending on the artwork size and proportions.

Framed Prints

Our framed prints are professionally presented using a selected frame profile and acrylic glazing to provide a clean, contemporary finish.

Framed prints are available with or without a mount depending on the chosen presentation option.

The frame size will be slightly larger than the selected print size to allow for the frame profile and professional fitting of the artwork.

Frame proportions may vary depending on the artwork size and presentation requirements.

Understanding Your Artwork Size

To avoid confusion, please remember:

Print size = the artwork size selected at purchase.

Mounted print size = the overall mounted artwork size, with the visible image reduced slightly to accommodate the mount aperture.

Framed print size = the overall external frame dimensions, which will be larger than the selected print size.
